After about 2 months (2 bottles) of taking 2 pills of Acnetame everyday my face was clear. But I had also cut a lot of things out of my diet like, white chocolate mochas (which I had every morning), energy drinks, dairy products and I tried to eat more fruits, veggies, whole wheat and I started drinking green tea everyday, once in a while black tea. I also switched all products I used to wash my face to natural products from Diva Stuff like their charcoal face wash and anti acne moisturizer. Doing all these things cleared up my face 100%!! I attached some photos so you can get an idea of what my acne looked like and what my face looks like now. You can’t really tell in the picture but I do have acne scars.

I have tried Acne Products like Proactive and Clean & Clear in the past with no luck. I am a male in my 20s and suffer from mild acne. These acne pills have works tremendously! During the first week of using this product I noticed that my pimples started disappearing. A month in my acne is completely gone! Highly recommend this product!

I have had very oily skin since puberty, which also fluctuates with stress hormones. My skin oil is also very high in keratin. This runs in my family. It causes cystic acne, exacerbated by stress (so also hormonal acne, I suppose) — typically small deep cysts around my jawline, hairline, chin, nose, and occasionally back/shoulders, as well as blackheads (keratin plugs) in almost every pore in these areas. Pores would just clog with hard, yellow-brown plugs of keratin and trapped oil, and if I didn’t manage to extract them all, eventually oil would build up behind them and cause cysts if bacteria were present. This was very time-consuming and never completely resolved the problem.

I have been using 10% benzoyl peroxide scrubs and chlorhexidine gluconate soap to try to kill skin bacteria and dry out lesions once drained — this helps reduce the number of new lesions and clear up existing ones faster. I have also been changing my pillowcase every two days to avoid repeated exposure to bacteria and skin debris, as well as stringently avoiding touching my face or chin during the day. However, this could not resolve the blackheads, and it is impossible to kill or avoid all bacteria, so it was not a complete solution.

I have also been using adapalene/Differin (a 3rd-generation topical retinoid compatible with salicylic acid — unlike tretinoin/Retin-A) to attempt to inhibit keratin formation. Recently I also began using a potent 10% salicylic acid 5% lactic acid alcohol-based topical preparation — salicylic and lactic acid penetrate keratin and sebum deposits and dissolve blackheads, while also killing bacteria, and scrubbing helps remove skin debris that can also clog pores. However, my skin was still very oily.

From past research, the only means I had found for reducing skin oiliness was isotretinoin (e.g. Accutane). Isotretinoin has many harmful side effects, including a risk of neurological side effects, and essentially induces the equivalent of vitamin A poisoning. I was not comfortable with that. Moreover, topical isotretinoin creams empirically do not appear as effective as oral isotretinoin, based on clinical studies. As a result, I thought I was destined to have oily skin indefinitely. Growing up hadn’t seemed to eliminate it.

Then I discovered this product. Apparently mega-doses of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) also reduce skin oil. However, vitamin B5 is water-soluble and mega-dosing has hardly any side effects — unlike vitamin A derivatives (e.g. isotretinoin) which are fat-soluble and have potentially dangerous side effects in high doses. Based on favorable reviews, I decided to give it a try.

So far, it seems to be working quite well at 4 pills per day — 2 in the morning and 2 at night. For me, the effects were noticeable within 24 hours. My skin has become noticeably less oily, I rarely see any new blemishes, and existing patches of acne have dried out and largely faded away (in the past, they would sometimes recur in the same places as more oil became trapped — oil production has lessened so much that this no longer occurs). Hopefully this will continue– I have only been using the product for about a week so far and I have no acne at all currently. Not a single pimple or cyst, anywhere. Just the slowly-fading marks from where the old ones had been.

This is a very interesting product. I had not seen anything like it before and it appears to work much better than other things I have tried in the past. It is a bit costly, but it is important to note that taking mega-doses of pantothenic acid alone can result in side effects like hair loss if not supplemented by Acetyl-CoA and other precursors. Compared to buying all of these ingredients separately, the cost is fairly reasonable. I do wish these came in larger bottles, though. I would buy 300-tablet bottles at a volume discount if they existed.
