this medication Ativant has helped me alot with anxiety and panic attacts.i am also on Serequil and i have to take ativant to ease the side effects,i become very restless or irritated and the dr.gave me ativant to try to ofset it. it worked. I do not use it if i do not feel the need for it example anxiety or panic attact.
I have been on Lorazepam for almost a year for anxiety and panic attacks, at first it was to help ease my symptoms until prozac had kicked in- 3 days of Prozac was not good for me, so I quit and continued with Lorazepam 1/4 pill every morning under my tongue and let it dissolve, it orignally was 3 1mg a day, that would put me to sleep all day.. I can cope every day and not fear of freaking out in front of customers and going grocery shopping. I feel really good.
One of the warnings on the bottle is "May cause drowsiness". Well, that's why I am taking it! If you don't want to feel drowsy, then Ativan is probably not for you. Another drawback is that if it is used too often, your body will get used to it and you may have to bump up your dose. When I first began taking Ativan, I only needed half a mg. to fall asleep, so I would cut a tablet in half. I only use it 3 or 4 times a month, but even at that dosage, after having used it for several years, I now find I have to take a whole tablet in order for the Ativan to help me sleep.
I was in the E.R. for my usual anxiety waiting to be sent to a Mental health treatment facility. I lay there for seven hours. I tired but I could not sleep. It's like the voices around me were getting louder and louder. I eventually exploded. It took three security people and nurse stuck me in my thigh from a distance with Ativan, it was great. The Anxiety demons went away and I felt normal. I was later prescribed Ativan. I've tried many medicines in my twenty seven year battle with Depression and Social anxiety and anxiety and O.C.D. and P.D.S.D. Nothing works like Ativan.
Became addictive .. Docs never told anything that it should only be used very short term, less then two weeks! The then become addictive. Not only that, the told me nothing of side affects, nor tolerance withdrawals, nor, you need to withdraw slowly. These are very dangerous drugs, you my think it helps, but you will pay he'll being on any benzodizapines. If you don,t believe this, go towww.benzo.org read dr (prof) ashton,s Manuel.
