I take 6mg Ativan a day and will do for life, it saved my life there is nothing else to touch a benzodiazepine if your anxiety is off the scale. I've been taking Ativan for anxiety and panic disorder for over 12 years and have been pleased with the results. I've been able to lower my starting dose of 4mg per day to 2mg per day with the incorporation of exercise and cognitive therapy (they have been a big help!). I hope I can discontinue using it altogether some day (I'm not big on meds) but it has made a huge difference in helping me manage my symptoms effectively and safely.
