Home Remedies For Bladder Infection

Bladder infection is a condition that tends to affect women more acutely than men. It is a very painful problem which needs immediate attention. If detected in the earlier stages itself, it can be prevented averting serious damage to your health in the long run. This problem generally arises when the bacteria in the rectum enters the urethra due to improper cleaning. It can also be caused due an infection in the kidneys.

Remedies to Treat Bladder Infection

For two weeks drink about half a cup lemon juice in the morning. This is good for clearing bladder infection.

For treating this infection mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of water. Mix well to drink for quick recovery.

Eat fruits and vegetables which contain sulfur like asparagus, spinach, cashews/almonds, Rhubarb and for acid eat cranberries, lemons, and blueberries.

Mix one teaspoon olive oil and one teaspoon garlic juice in a glass of warm water. Drink thrice a day, before meals.

You can also consume a teaspoon of pure garlic juice which is very efficient in killing the bacteria responsible for bladder infection.

Cranberry juice is very effective in preventing bladder infection. Try to drink at least eight ounces of cranberry juice everyday to prevent this infection. Keep in mind to drink 100% cranberry juice otherwise it would be ineffective.

You can have two caps of goldenseal followed by 1/2 a glass of water and 1000 mg. of vitamin C before each meal. Do this for 3-5 days.

In equal proportion use Yarrow, Uva ursi, Cornsilk and 1 1/2 tbsp of Juniper berries. In 3 cups of water simmer 1 tsp Echinea root for 20 minutes. In this water add 11/2 tsp of mixed herbs (Yarrow and others). Once cool, strain and drink this concoction. Continue this for a week.

If the infection is related to bleeding use this solution for nearly 4 days. Make an equal combination of Shepherd’s purse, Flax seed, Uva ursi and Echinea root. In one cup of water simmer 1 tbsp mixture of these herbs for 20 minutes. Cool anddrink at least 3 – 5 cups a day.

For bladder pain and painful urination apply Comfrey leaf poultice over the bladder. You can have Pepsissewa tea, Hydrangea root or leaf tea, Cornsilk tea, or Buchu leaf tea. Avoid boiling the tea.

Antiseptic herbs such as Fleabane, Pipsissewa, Smartweed, Elecampane, Wild alum root, Golden seal, Myrrh and Echinea root can be added to diuretic.
