I forgot how well this stuff works. I've been using Ativan every so often for six years. I hadn't taken it in ages but had a panic attack tonight and I feel really good now after taking it. I know when my anxiety was a lot worse, it didn't bring me down to 0 anxiety but took the edge off. At one point in the past I was taking it pretty much daily but never became dependent on it (I only take the 0.5mg dose). I do feel kind of sleepy, but pleasantly so. In my experience the sublingual (under the tongue) type works a lot better than the normal swallowed pills.
My doctor tried many anxious/panic medications to treat my illness. Ativan was the only one that worked for me. I never had to take Ativan on a daily basis. However, when an attack occured Ativan worked!
Drug was given to me in a hospital but the doctors did not tell me why. I found out weeks later! I had been treated for a seizure and falsified diagnosis of alcoholism and I had not drank for several years and before very lightly! This happened at Mt. Carmel St. Anns in Westerville, Ohio! If anyone is treated there be sure to get your medical record and itemized billing records. Very likely you will find you are a victim of insurance or medicare fraud! They use it to knock you out so you don't know what's happening and then do anything they want. I had a severe reaction of respetiory arrest and had to be placed on a ventilator! Don't trust the bastards. They have a habit of ripping you off! I know because it's happened to me numerous times! I had a good friend actually die at the icu in the hospital mentioned from hospital acquired pneumonia! I was also in there and had the same problem, pneumonia! I'm glad I got out of there before the incompentent quack moron doctors killed me! Just let me die at home next time!!!
My doctor put me on a .5 mg twice daily dosage of this medication, along with 2 others to help with my anxiety,depression, and OCD. I have noticed a difference, but taking this medication alone, without the others, has not seemed to help my anxiety. However, with all threem I have noticed a changed.
